Handmade birch plywood bookcase/bookshelves.

This is made from BB grade birch plywood finished with a coat of natural matt lacquer, to provide protection against liquid spillages, while retaining a natural look. Each joint is formed with a dado groove and fixed with glue and countersunk wood screws to provide a sleek and contemporary finish.

In this example, the unit sits in an alcove and fixed to the wall with screws through the side of the bookcase. Other fixing options can be provided based on the design and the location of the where the item will be placed. Furthermore, this particular item includes a 120mm plinth fixed to the bottom of the bookcase, which matches the height of the skirting board that the bookcase sits above.

Each shelf can be made to various heights and lengths, depending on requirements. The depth of each shelf in this example is 290mm, which is sufficient to exceed the depth of the majority of books. However, the depth can be made shallower or deeper as per your requirements.

In this example, the rear of the bookcase is backed with 6mm birch plywood, which is an optional extra. Depending on the overall size of the unit, the item will either be delivered by courier flat pack or fully assembled.
